Language matters most in colour and lash work, because the result there depends as much on being understood correctly as on the stylist's hands. At Modern Hair Beauty Salon (Muratpaşa, Antalya) the team includes stylists who speak Turkish, Russian and English; there is no German-speaking stylist. Writing your language in the booking note is enough — you will be scheduled with someone who speaks it.
You can point at a haircut; you cannot point at a colour
For a haircut you can point at a length or hold up a photo. Colour does not work that way. Colour is not a result but a negotiation: the tone you want, the tone your hair is now, everything that has been done to it before, and how much it can take today are all discussed at the same table. Phrases like “keep it ash”, “no orange coming through” or “two shades lighter but no line at the roots” have no reliable hand gesture.
Who pays for a misunderstanding?
A haircut that goes wrong grows out in a few weeks. Colour that goes wrong means a second session, an extra cost and usually some damage to the hair. Lashes are similar: a volume preference that was misunderstood looks back at you from the mirror for two weeks. Language here is not a matter of courtesy — it is part of the result.

Being honest about German
Plenty of businesses in Antalya put “Wir sprechen Deutsch” in the window. Our salon currently has no German-speaking stylist, and we say so on the site. The German pages stay: you can read the prices, see the services and book. We simply do not promise that a stylist will speak German with you. If that changes, this is the first place we will say so.

Yes. You can write in any language in the note field; someone on the team will read it.
How do I know which stylist speaks which language?
The team section of the site lists each stylist's country. The exact match is made when your appointment is scheduled — writing your language in the note is enough.
Do I need to bring a translator?
Not if you speak Turkish, Russian or English. If you speak another language, message on WhatsApp before your appointment and we will find a way.
